How this website collects, uses and protects your information.

Who we are

This website is run by BMS Counselling. When we say “we”, “us” or “our”, we mean BMS Counselling. If you have any questions about this policy or your information, please contact us.

What we collect

  • Contact form: your name, email address, phone number (if you give it), the topic you choose and your message. We also note how you found the website (for example a search engine, a social media post or another website) so we know which of our outreach is working.
  • Newsletter: your email address, if you sign up for daily reminders, and how you found the website.
  • Assessment: your answers are scored in your own browser and are not sent to us. We keep an anonymous count of how many people finish it and which area scored lowest, with no personal details, so we know what to write about. If you choose to email your results, we use your email address to send them. If you also choose to share your results with us, we receive your scores and answers.
  • Sharing affirmations: when you use a share button, we count which card was shared and where, with no personal details.
  • Saved affirmations: quotes you save are stored on your own device only (in your browser’s local storage). We can’t see them.
  • Technical information: like most websites, our hosting provider may record basic information such as your IP address and browser type for security and performance.

How we use it

We use your information only to respond to your enquiry, provide our services, send the reminders you signed up for, and keep this website secure. We don’t sell your information, and we don’t share it with anyone for marketing.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries and newsletter sign-ups only for as long as we need them. You can ask us to delete your information at any time, and you can unsubscribe from emails whenever you like.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Just get in touch.

Counselling records

If you become a client, any notes kept about your sessions are handled separately and confidentially. We’ll explain how they are stored and protected before you start.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page.
