My story
From rock bottom
to a brighter road
I didn’t start BMS because I read about recovery in a book. I started it because I’ve walked the road — and I know how much the right support can change everything.

Lost and stuck
For a long time I was caught in patterns I couldn’t see a way out of. Addiction took more from me than I like to admit, and underneath it was a mind that wouldn’t give me a break.
I know what it’s like to feel lost, stuck, and like nothing will ever change.
- 02
Rock bottom
There’s a point where something has to give. For me, that point led to rehab. It wasn’t the end of the struggle — but it was the first time I stopped running from it.
- 03
Finding my body again
Boxing gave me something I didn’t know I was missing: a reason to show up, a way to burn off what was building up inside, and proof that I could get stronger.
It taught me that the body isn’t separate from the mind. When one moves, the other follows.
- 04
Learning my mind
Therapists and antidepressants were part of my road too. Some things helped, some didn’t, and a lot of it felt disconnected — one person for my head, another for my habits, nobody looking at the whole picture.
- 05
Lowest to highest
Slowly, things started to connect. Looking after my body made my mind clearer. A clearer mind helped me reconnect with what actually matters. Sometimes you have to be at your lowest to reach your highest.

Why I started BMS
BMS Counselling is the support I wish I’d had — one place that looks at body, mind and spirit together, run by someone who’s been there.
“Sometimes you have to be at your lowest to reach your highest.”
